Faith Kreelak of Rankin Inlet, Nunavut is a longtime seamstress who began sewing at the age of 14. She was inspired by her mother and Inuit culture.
As a wife and a mother of two, Faith enjoys sewing for her family as well those who would like to purchase high quality modern and traditional leather and sealskin parkas.
While Faith is employed full time at the Kivalliq Inuit Association, she is currently taking orders for homemade garments, and has developed a broad clientele across Nunavut. She sews as a second job during the evenings and weekends. Along with parkas, Faith makes sealskin purses, hats, mitts and slippers, as well as amautis. Although Faith specializes in sewing with leather and sealskin, she is accustomed to sew with Commander and other specialty fabrics.
Faith has attended many trade shows where she displayed and sold her products. She has also displayed her garments in various fashion shows such as the North American Fur & Fashions Exposition in Montreal.
